Mouse In The House is a fun edutainment series (13min x 26 eps) aimed at kids in grade 3 and 4 (aged 8 to 10 years). It provides a platform for discovery and learning of the world of science around them.
It introduces children to science and maths by exploring fundamental principles. These include gravity, pressure, kinetics, magnetism etc. The characters conduct science experiments in an integrated and entertaining way.
Astral Studios executed this dynamic edutainment series in both 3D animation and live action footage. Two animated mouse characters host the series. These are Max, a brainy ‘lab rat’ and Maya, a young inquisitive protégé. They uncover fascinating facts about how things work and why things happen in a particular way.
Max the Mouse talks to the audience, explaining what the science concept and experiment is and how to perform it.
Their initial questioning and investigation begins in their hi-tech lab. Professor Sal Rex help them. He explains the science at work whilst an expert conducts the actual experiment with the help of two kids. This then leads them into a real world visit to see the science in application.
The edutainment series coincides with a primary school syllabus. It incorporates elements pertaining to science, biology, geography and mathematics, broadening the viewer’s interest spectrum.
